WCGTC
Welcome to Kentucky, my home and the home of the headquarters of the World Council of Gifted and Talented Children. As Executive Director of The Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University, I hope you will be joining us for the 20th Biennial World Conference with the theme “Celebrating Giftedness and Creativity.”
The World Council is a unique organization that brings together people around the globe who are interested in gifted education. The World Council is a shining example of what can happen when we put aside differences and work together to build a bright future for our world as we develop the potentials of our gifted children.
Kentucky has more than a 30-year history in programming for gifted children, and we look forward to sharing our experiences with you. As Executive Director of the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science, which was recently recognized as the number one high school in America by Newsweek magazine, I can assure you that persistence and dedication are worth the effort to increase opportunities for gifted learners.
This year is the International Year of Giftedness and Creativity, and our conference reflects that theme. We hope you will attend the World Conference in Louisville and enjoy visiting the Bluegrass State. We are looking forward to hosting this special 20th anniversary biennial world conference.
